Established in 1983, Indiport is the landmark in Montreal for oriental, modern and transitional handmade rugs from all over the world.
This impressive 32000 square feet showroom, is one of the largest in Canada. It is the result of hard labor and the determination of a young man at the time, who put his heart and soul into opening a little rug shop on the east end of Ste-Catherine Street in Montréal, Québec. Arvind Soni and his devoted team dedicated themselves serving the clients, designers and architects with the up most standards and very quickly built an exceptional reputation in the trade. With such prosperity and growing inventory, Indiport soon had to find a larger location, which they did at 100 St-Paul street, in the historical Old Montreal. Now offering custom made items and shipping merchandise all over the world, Indiport imports all rugs directly so it is now renowned for its exceptional rugs at unbeatable prices.
All is well until 2008, when the district of Old Montreal changes its parking and accessibility regulations for St-Paul street, making the business, by its vocation and type of goods, a difficult destination to access. Not being one to give up easily, Arvind Soni rolled up his sleeves once again and began the search for a new location. His visionary skills brought him to see the incredible potential in an industrial building located at 8425 Devonshire Road in Mount-Royal, which very few people could have imagine the actual results.
Since 2009, now conveniently located at the junction of Décarie (A-15) and Metropolitain (A-40), Arvind and his dedicated experienced staff, are now sharing their passion to find for you the best available rugs for your needs and budget, in one of the largest and nicest showroom you could ever imagine.
